A new plant manager has begun at El Dorado Chemical, though he’s hardly a new face for the company.

Dan Greenwell, CEO of LSB Industries, which owns El Dorado Chemical, said Dale Reppond took over as plant manager on Monday, though he has worked for the company since 2014 and was previously the manager of the ammonia plant.

Reppond takes over for Greg Withrow, who Greenwell said retired.

“Greg Withrow did a great job managing that plant and getting that new facility built,” Greenwell said, referring to the completion of an $800 million expansion. “We’re very grateful to him.”

Greenwell said that, as is often the case with new management, Reppond wanted to build his own team, which lead to a few other people leaving the company. When asked how many, he said four people left in total, with three being in upper management.

“New plant managers typically want to build their own team,” Greenwell said. “That’s sort of in the normal course of business, so there’s nothing else going on down in El Dorado.”

He noted that the company had heard speculation from the community about what happened and what it could mean, specifying that the company is going strong in El Dorado.

“That plant is the heartbeat of our company,” Greenwell said. “We’ve got a lot of money invested in it, it’s got a very bright future and we’re looking to grow the business down there, quite frankly.”
