Drawing determines May ballot placement

On Monday, a drawing was held at the Union County Courthouse to determine ballot placement for candidates in the May 22 primary.

For the May primary, candidates will be listed in the following order:

Fourth Congressional District: Republican Randy Caldwell will be listed first, with incumbent Republican Rep. Bruce Westerman listed second.

Governor: Jan Morgan will be listed before incumbent Gov. Asa Hutchinson on the Republican ballot, while Jared K. Henderson will be listed before Leticia Sanders on the Democratic ballot.

Secretary of State: John Thurston will be listed before Trevor Drown on the Republican ballot.

State Supreme Court Associate Justice: This non-partisan race will feature David Sterling first, Kenneth Hixon second and Courtney Goodson third.

Union County Quorum Court, District 10: Brett Garrett will be listed before Donald Brock on the Republican ballot.

Union County Tax Collector: Karen Scott will be listed before incumbent Paula Beard on the Democratic ballot.

El Dorado mayor: Christopher Lutman will be listed first, followed by incumbent Frank Hash second and Bill Luther third on the Republican ballot. Whoever wins will face Democrat Veronica Smith-Creer on the November ballot.

El Dorado alderman, Ward 3, position 2: Andre Rucks will be listed before Tony Henry on the Democratic ballot.

Smackover-Norphlet School Board: Lynn Birchfield will be listed before Nathaniel J. Smith.

Parkers Chapel School Board: Wes Taylor will be listed before Bonnie Fish.
