SMACKOVER - Taylor’s Lindsey Downs hurled a shutout at Smackover Monday. The Lady Tigers blanked the Lady Bucks 10-0 and ran their record to 3-0 on the season. Smackover fell to 1-2.

Downs allowed five hits and only struck out one batter while yielding no base on balls.

“There were a lot of at-em balls,” said Smackover coach Dennis Steele.

Sabrina Estridge was 2-for-2 for the Lady Bucks. Karli Goocher was 1-for-2 with a double. Reagan Richardson and Lexi Gilbert both went 1-for-2 at the plate.

Abbi Crawford took the loss in the circle. She surrendered nine runs on eight hits with three walks and a strikeout in 3 1/3 innings. Karis Robinson pitched 1 2/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits with two walks and two strikeouts.

Smackover’s game on Thursday has been cancelled. The Lady Bucks return to action in the Lady Cat Classic against Hermitage on Friday at 6 p.m.
