SHERRY FARRINGTON

Sherry Denton Farrington, 78, of Farmerville passed away Saturday, March 3rd, at the Arbor Lake Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Sherry was born in Spearsville, Louisiana, Nov. 21, 1939, to the late Neva “Rockett” Denton and J.A. “Aubrey” Denton of Farmerville. She was a member of the Ward’s Chapel Church of Christ for many years where her husband, Chuck, preached then later attended the Lillie Church of Christ where he preached until his retirement.

Sherry was thought of as a beautiful person to many on the inside and out. She was dedicated to the Lord and was a loving wife, mother and sister. Family was her main priority and she always looked forward to family gatherings. With an inquisitive mind about life, she enjoyed learning through reading and traveling, especially to the mountains. Through the years, she enjoyed many trips with her family as well as with dear friends, Dan and the late Totsy Albritton. Being an avid gardener, she always had a beautiful yard and loved her flowers.

In more recent years, Sherry was always ready for a “road trip”, loved to eat out, loved to karaoke with her family and was always singing a song. The last song she sang was “Mansion Over the Hilltop” where she will now be. She spent many happy days doing activities and sharing many laughs with her special friend, Linda Montgomery, of Marion.

Preceded in death were her parents and husband of 55 years, C.A. “Chuck” Farrington; brother Mickey Denton of Farmerville, Louisiana and brother-in-law Harold Farrington of Houston, Texas.

Left to cherish her memory, daughter, Brenda Farrington of Farmerville; son, Brad Farrington of Spencer, Louisiana; sister, Peggy and husband G.V. “Bub” Sehon of Marion, Louisiana; brother, Lane Denton and wife Louise of Farmerville; sister, Debbie and husband Robbie Williams of El Dorado; sister-in-law, Pam Denton of Farmerville; sister-in-law, Virginia and husband Bernard Roberts of Shongaloo, Louisiana; sister-in-law, Lavonne Myers of Virginia; many nieces and nephews and her devoted Doberman “Storm” who always looked over her with a watchful eye.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on March 9th at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville with Bro. Larry White officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill-Taylor cemetery. Family will receive friends and family for visitation Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel.
