Wildcats win Ryan White Tournament

HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado's baseball team downed Hot Springs Lakeside 5-3 Saturday night in the championship game of the Ryan White Tournament. The Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season.

Adam Simmons, making his first varsity start, earned the win on the mound. He allowed two runs and struck out five in five innings. Chase Webb pitched the final two innings for the save, yielding a run with two strikeouts.

The Wildcats struck first with two runs in the fourth. Derek Jobe drove in a run with a two-out double off the wall. Jobe scored on Micah Haney's single.

El Dorado added three runs in the sixth. The big hit was a two-out, two-run triple by Evan Chandler.

Chandler and Brennan Smith each went 2-for-3 at the plate. The Wildcats had eight hits in the game.
