Junction City baseball rips Foreman

ASHDOWN - Junction City earned its first win of the baseball season Saturday, downing Foreman 15-3 in the Ashdown Tournament. The Dragons evened their record to 1-1.

Jack Smith and Keelan Hodge drove in five runs apiece for Junction City. Smith had three doubles and Hodge recorded two doubles and a single.

Bryce Ware had two singles and drove in a run. Clay Jolley had a single and a RBI. Tanner McLelland and Cody Lee both had singles.

Brock McGoogan picked up the win in relief, throwing four innings with four strikeouts. He allowed no runs on one hit with one walk. Jolley started on the mound and surrendered three runs on four walks and one hit with one strikeout.

On Friday, Junction City fell to Ashdown 4-0 in the season opener.

Jolley, Hodge, McGoogan and Smith all had singles.

On the mound, Hodge started and threw two innings, allowing four runs on two hits, one walk and three hit batsmen. Ware pitched two innings, yielding one hit, one walk and three hit batsmen with two strikeouts. Ty Disotell gave up no runs on no hits with one walk and one strikeout in two innings.

Junction City travels to Taylor on Monday, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
