This article was published March 2, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.

Andrew Robert Reis was born January 17, 1977 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He passed away on February 19, 2018 in Templeton, California.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Thomas Allen, grandfather, Sol Reis Shmookler, grandmother, Saralee Novack and Uncle Michael Novack.

Survivors include his mother, Ivory Kinslow (Henry), father, Robert Reis (Sun Lee), sister, Sarah Stashuk (Christopher), sister, Rachel Kinslow, grandmother, Irene Allan and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Born in Scotland, Andrew lived in Canada for three years and then lived in the USA. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion and Philosophy from Hendrix College in Arkansas and obtained his Multiple Teaching Credential.

Andrew was the kind of guy who could walk in and get 35 on the ACT test and a Master’s Degree, but spend his life working on hunger projects and teaching special needs children.

He had a special talent for trivia and his team won many competitions. He will be missed by his family, friends and hundreds of children he would have taught.

A Celebration of Life was held in California on February 23, 2018. There will be a small family memorial service in Little Rock in April, followed by a Celebration of Life in Scotland for his British family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo (https://www.slofoodbank.org/donate.php) or the charity of your choice.
