City Arrests

• Misty D. Gribben-Foster, 37, of 3686 W. Hillsboro, was arrested June 4 on a misdemeanor warrant for enforcement of fines. Gribben-Foster was being held in the Union County Jail on an unrelated felony warrant for forgery, police said. She also faces charges of refusal to submit to arrest and possession of instruments of crime.

• Marcus L. Talley, 37, of 1216 N. Gray, was arrested June 4 for aggravated assault on a family or household member, first-degree terroristic threatening, first-degree false imprisonment, and interference with emergency communications. Talley was also arrested on a warrant for delivery of methamphetamine. A woman told officers that Talley struck her in the stomach with a wooden object at her residence in the 900 block of East Faulkner. She said he then ordered her to get into her vehicle and drive him home “so they could talk.” She said he took her phone to prevent her from calling 911, produced a pocketknife and issued a terroristic threat. When they arrived at the North Gray residence, Talley made a second terroristic threat before exiting the vehicle, the woman said. Police said they took Talley into custody nearly two hours later at his residence.

• Robert C. Meeks, 29, of 1202 N. Miles, was arrested June 4 on a warrant for two counts of delivery of cocaine. He also faces a misdemeanor charge for fleeing. Police said when they went to the North Miles residence to issue the arrest warrant, Meeks, who was standing in front of the residence, fled on foot. Police said they apprehended Meeks after a foot chase that lasted several blocks.

• Edward R. Jones, 58, of 1231 N. Highland, was arrested June 4 on a warrant for two counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• Marsha G. Lawrence, 33, of 128 Lawrence Lane, was arrested June 4 on a warrant for breaking or entering and theft of property.

• Kevin D. Freeman, 40, of 1108 B. Ave., was arrested June 4 on a warrant for delivery of cocaine.

• Mark A. Owens, 49, of 707 Union, was arrested June 4 on a warrant for four counts of delivery of cocaine.

• Steven T. Scott, 39, of 1500 W. Faulkner, was arrested June 4 on a warrant for delivery of cocaine, possession of methamphetamine with a purpose, possession of Ecstasy with a purpose, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession a Schedule II narcotic with a purpose to deliver, and maintaining a drug premises.

• Charles E. Heard, 47, of 105 E. Midway, was arrested June 4, Arkansas Parole Board warrant.

• Patrick A. Williams, 30, of 611 W. Burns, was arrested June 1 on a warrant for aggravated robbery. During a search incident to arrest, police said they found a large bag of marijuana in Williams’s left front pants pocket and a plastic container with marijuana and 10 Xanax pills, noting that the marijuana totaled 35.5 grams. In his right front pants pocket, officers said they found an Ecstasy tablet.

• Jaquez L. Whatley, 28, of 1500 N. Martin Luther King, was arrested June 1 on an Arkansas Parole Board warrant for absconding.

City Reports

• A man told police June 8 that someone broke into his vehicle at his residence in the 300 block of Tanglewood and stole a handgun with Trijacon Sights and a Fulcrum Trigger, a Ka-Bar knife, range finder, watch, and two pairs of sunglasses. Also reported missing was a wallet containing a bank card, driver’s license, nursing license, two medical registration cards, and a concealed handgun carry license. The man said someone attempted to use the bank card to make an online purchase in the amount of $80, but the transaction was denied.

• A man reported June 7 the theft of his vehicle, a gray Acura MDX, from his residence in the 1600 block of West Oak. The vehicle was recovered the following day after a woman notified police about an abandoned vehicle in the area of Liberty and Flenniken.

• A woman told police June 7 that someone broke into her vehicle at her residence in the 700 block of East Seventh and stole her wallet, which contained a small amount of cash, a debit card, Social Security card and driver’s license. A man told police June 7 that someone broke into his vehicle at his residence in the 100 block of Holly and stole his wallet, which contained $400 cash, two debit cards and a credit card. A man reported the following day that he found a debit card and a credit card across the street from his residence in the 3300 block of North College. Police said the credit card belonged to the man on Holly, and debit card belonged to the woman at East Seventh.

• Police were called June 7 to a residence in the 700 block of Griffith in reference to the breaking or entering of a vehicle. The radio was reported missing.

• A woman told police June 6 that someone broke into her vehicle at her residence in the 600 block of Carol Avenue and stole approximately $3 cash.

• Police responded June 5 to a report of a burglary at Beauty Nails, 1223 W. Hillsboro. A 40-inch Plasma TV was reported missing.

• A man reported June 4 the theft of a motorcycle from a residence in the 1200 block of Roosevelt. The motorcycle was described as a black and maroon Honda CBR sport bike.

• On June 5, officers were called to the area of College and South Parkway in reference to shots fired at a residence. Police said they did not initially find any indication of a shooting, but moments later, a woman told them that someone fired shots at her house in the 500 block of South Parkway, striking it several times. The woman said she heard several gunshots but did not realize her house had been struck until she noticed glass on the floor in the dining room. Police said there were two bullet holes in a vehicle in the carport, a bullet hole in a drainage gutter near the vehicle, three bullet holes in the siding of the house next to a sliding glass door underneath the carport, and a bullet hole in the sliding glass door. Police said the bullet traveled through the glass door and entered wall inside the dining room. They also said the glass door was shattered and appeared to have been struck with a blunt object. Officers recovered a spent round from the scene.

• A man reported June 4 the theft of a tractor-trailer from T-Models, 1752 Haynesville Hwy. He described the vehicle as a 2007 International Harvester with the letters “MIP” (Miracle In Progress) on the doors. He said the trailer was a gray, 53-foot Lufkin with a load of 2x6 lumber.

• A man told police June 3 that someone broke into his residence on Petroleum and stole a TV and window air conditioner. A witness reported scaring off two males who were attempting to remove the air conditioner, noting the air conditioner was still in the window at that time suspects ran off. The witness said the males appeared to be in their late teens with short hair and wearing dark clothing.

• A man told police June 3 that several items were missing from his residence in the 1100 block of West Cedar. Reported missing were two weed eaters, two leaf blowers, a tackle box containing miscellaneous tools, a grinder, two 18-volt batteries, a battery charger and a flashlight. The man identified a possible suspect.

• Officers responded on June 2 to a report of a disturbance at El Dorado Inn, 1019 N. West Ave. Employees told police they heard someone screaming on the north side of the property and then saw a man, who appeared to be bleeding, running south on North West Avenue. Police said the spoke to the man, who was Asian and spoke little English. They said the man grabbed his head and chest as if in pain. They said his lips and face were swollen and there were scrapes on his knees. Police said a relative was able to translate some of the man’s statements, saying that two males and a female had assaulted the man and taken his cellular phone. A possible suspect was identified, according to a police report.

• An employee of Walmart Supercenter, 2730 N. West Ave., reported June 1 that another employee had stolen approximately $12,000 from the business. The suspect reportedly under-charged items at the cash register and fraudulently loaded pre-paid debit cards with money.

• Officers responded June 1 to a report of a wreck at El Dorado Monuments, 1050 Champagnolle Road. A witness reported that a white truck was involved in the incident. Police said the truck was not on the scene when they arrived, and it appeared that a vehicle was traveling north on Mosby, ran onto the El Dorado Monument property, struck and “hopped” a rail and ran over a display monument.

• A Smackover woman told police June 2 that a woman she knew broke a window in her vehicle as she was holding her baby inside the vehicle. The woman several items had been stolen from her residence in Smackover, and she recovered several of the items from a residence in the 400 block of North Bradley. She identified a possible suspect and said the suspect’s mother allowed her to enter the suspect’s room at the North Bradley residence, where she found several items that belonged to her. She said the suspect then arrived and became “angry and aggressive.” Fearing the suspect may attack her, the complainant said she got into the rear driver’s seat of her vehicle and locked the doors. She noted that she was holding her 6-month-old baby at the time. She said the suspect threw a beer bottle at the window, shattering it, and “glass flew everywhere.” She said the bottle landed on the front passenger seat. She said the baby was not injured in the incident. Police said they recovered an empty beer bottle from the front passenger seat.

• A woman told police June 2 that her brother “choked her out” as she argued with his girlfriend. Police said the woman’s left pants leg and shirt collar were ripped, and she told officers that her hair weave was “knocked off” during the fight. The woman’s mother told officers that the altercation was in progress when she arrived on the scene, saying the complainant and her brother were tussling on the ground, and her brother was attempting to hold her down. The woman said her daughter and son’s girlfriend “were also shouting back and forth at each other.” Police said they later spoke to the woman’s brother who said he intervened when his sister began “charging at” his girlfriend. He said he grabbed her and the two tumbled to the ground, and he pinned her down until she calmed down. He said he then left the residence in the 600 block of West Block. He also told officers that his sister was rifling through his belongings when he arrived at the residence.

• A man told police June 1 that someone entered his vehicle at his residence in the 200 block of North College and stole three rods and reels.

• A man told police June 1 that a man he knew threatened him with a knife. The man said he was sitting in his front yard in the 1400 block of Champagnolle when the suspect drove past, turned around, pulled into his yard and said he wanted to “beat his (expletive).” He said the man then pulled a knife from his pocket and threatened him. A witness provided a similar account of the incident. The witness, who is legally blind, reported hearing the suspect threaten to cut the victim.
