HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado made a run in the final minutes of regulation, but the Wildcats couldn't cap their comeback bid, falling 66-60 to Hot Springs in Class 5A-6A District 6 play on Tuesday night.

Joderrio Ramey had 15 points and seven assists for the Wildcats, who chopped an eight-point lead down to two in the final minute before the Trojans held on.

"We had our opportunities," said El Dorado coach Gary Simmons.

"The kids battled hard. We had two kids who were sick, but we'll get healthy, and the seniors are doing a good job of leading."

Bishop Foster had 12 points and three steals, while Keshun Greene had nine points and 12 rebounds and B.J. Johnson finished with nine points for the Wildcats (10-12, 7-5).

El Dorado trailed 18-15 after the opening period before the Trojans took a 35-27 lead at halftime.

The Wildcats fought back to trail 49-47 after three periods before their comeback bid fell just short.

Simmons was pleased with Greene's play down low and the play of Kyle Jordan off the bench.

"Keshun played really well down low, and Kyle Jordan played well off the bench," Simmons said.

El Dorado will host Hot Springs Lakeside on Friday night.
