WILLIAM S. GRIFFIN

CPL. William Shannon Griffin, 40, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2018, at the Medical Center of South Arkan-sas. He was born Sept. 20, 1977, in Morris, Illinois.

Shannon worked as a police officer and detective for the El Dorado Police Department for 15 years. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He was a member of Our Savior Luthern Church and the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed watching movies, camping vacations, and college football, but most of all he loved being a Dad.

Preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, William A. Griffin and Margaret Mooty Griffin; his maternal grandparents, Fred Currier and Margaret Sarten Currier; and uncle, Charlie Sarten.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Jennifer Murphree Griffin, son, William Garrison Griffin both of El Dorado; his parents, to William A. and Margaret Ellen Currier Griffin of Norphlet; sister, Dana Westbrook (Brandon) of Norphlet; and aunt, Partha Sarten of Harriman, Tennessee.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at Young’s.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Charles Johnson and Dr. Sterling Claypool officiating. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
