FORDYCE - JaRodney Tubbs scored 22 points and hit four crucial free throws as Junction City won at Fordyce 52-49 Monday night. The Dragons upped their record to 10-6 on the season.

The Redbugs led 12-3 after one quarter and was on top 21-15 at the intermission. The Dragons outscored Fordyce 18-11 in the third.

Tubbs hit two free throws to give Junction City the lead and hit two more at the line with 11 seconds left to stretch the margin to three. Fordyce launched a deep 3-point attempt at the end that missed.

"I thought we came out really sluggish," said Junction City coach Kendall Hutcheson. "We came out much more intense in the second half and looked a little bit more like ourselves. The kids fought hard down the stretch. It's always good to win a close, tough game like this. It should help us when tournament time comes around."

Charles Hoof chipped in with eight points for Junction City, which travels to Lake Village today.

Kalob Jones and Darius Edwards led the Redbugs with 13 and 10, respectively.
