MARVIN L. SKIFF

MARVIN L. SKIFF

Marvin Lee Skiff, 77, of El Dorado, AR passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the John R. William-son Hospice House in El Dorado.

Mr. Skiff was born October 23, 1940 in Colorado Springs, CO to the union of George Skiff and Joyce Price Skiff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of forty years Janis Deckard Skiff, who he is now reunited with again.

Mr. Skiff was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and retired from the El Dorado Foundry Machine and Supply Company after forty years of service. He was avid nature lover and loved taking nature walks, capturing the beauty he saw through video and photos. He had a passion for bream fishing and spent a lot of time on various lakes in South Arkansas. He was an avid Razorback fan, especially of the basketball program. This comes as no surprise, as he was a standout basketball player for El Dorado High School and also coached a men’s team at the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club Church League.

Mr. Skiff was a handyman, a family man, and his children and grandchildren were his prized possessions. He loved to decorate for all of the holidays to make it special for his family. He had a great devotion and a deep love for his wife, Janis. This love started forty years ago with a wink that he gave her in their high school Biology class.

Survivors include his three daughters, Laura Smith and husband Keith, Susan Haner, Brenda Blaylock and husband Paul, one sister, Sandra Sosa and husband Sal, one brother, Randall Skiff and wife Renee, five grandchildren, Anna Smith, Landon Smith, Brooke Blaylock, Trace Blaylock and Georgie Rhodes.
