Junction City, Parkers Chapel, Strong collect wins

CROSSETT - Junction City used the one-two punch of Bryanna Raye and Jada Archie to collect a road win in Class 3A-4A District 12 action on Friday night, as the duo combined for 47 points to lead the Lady Dragons to a 69-56 win over Crossett.

Raye had 27 points for the Lady Dragons (10-9, 5-4), who trailed 13-8 after the opening period before rallying to take a 31-30 lead at intermission.

Junction City busted the game open in the third period by outscoring the Lady Eagles 21-5.

Archie had 20 points for the Lady Dragons, who began a four-game road swing on Friday and will play at Fordyce on Monday.

Jhonda Webster had 10 rebounds and Taykeetria Rogers added five assists in the win.

In the junior girls game, Crossett came away with a 34-8 win.

Olivia Creager and Tori McLelland had three points apiece, while Leslie Reddick added two points for Junction City.

PARKERS CHAPEL 41,

PARKERS CHAPEL - The first and third quarters proved to be pivotal for the Lady Trojans, who outscored the visitors 23-7 in the two periods to take control.

Terri Malone had 23 points and T.K. Burson added 12 points for the Lady Trojans (6-11, 4-4), who won in Class 1A-2A District 15 play.

Parkers Chapel will play at Hampton on Monday.

STRONG 47,

BEARDEN 35

BEARDEN - For the second straight night, Strong used solid defense to pull away and pick up a victory.

At Parkers Chapel on Thursday, the Lady Bulldogs held the Lady Trojans to just eight points in the second half.

On Friday, the Lady Bulldogs held Bearden to 10 points in the second half en route to winning in Class 1A-2A District 16 action.

Dynasty Davis had 25 points to lead Strong (11-5, 4-2), who got 11 points apiece from Kiki Shelton and Amaya Smith.

Bria Nelson had 12 points for Bearden.

Strong will host Hermitage on Tuesday.

WARREN 46,

SMACKOVER 21

WARREN - Sharnes McGhee, Kaitlyn Goodwin, Jordyn White and Haley Moffett all had three points for the Lady Bucks (10-6, 6-4), who fell in Class 3A-4A District 12 play.

Faith Jackson had 15 points for Warren.

In the junior girls game, Warren held off Smackover 21-17.

Adriana Grant had five points for Smackover.

Smackover plays at Drew Central on Tuesday.

LITTLE ROCK - The Lady Warriors (17-3) rolled to a win on the road.

Lauren Land had 19 points and Olivia Voss added 13 points for West Side Christian.

CROSSETT - The Dragons (9-6, 5-4) used a strong second quarter to overcome a 19-12 deficit at the end of the opening stanza to top the Eagles in Class 3A-4A District 12 play.

The Dragons led 32-26 at intermission before extending their lead to 50-39 after three periods.

Jerrodney Tubbs had 16 points to lead the Dragons, who also got 11 points from Terrell Gibson and 10 points from Hishmma Taylor.

Jaylon Brown had 16 points for the Eagles.

PARKERS CHAPEL 62,

PARKERS CHAPEL - Nate Garrett-Evans scored 22 points, as 12 players scored for the Trojans in their win in Class 1A-2A District 15 action.

"Overall, I thought we played really well tonight," said Parkers Chapel coach Josh Langley. "We did a much better job on the boards and looked better offensively. I'm really proud of how hard my guys played when their number was called. We had a lot of guys show their potential tonight, and that's exciting moving forward."

Josh Osborn added eight points and Isaiah Brown finished with six points for the Trojans (16-3, 7-1).

In the junior high boys game, the Trojans topped the Tigers 38-18.

Evan Younger had nine points and Trace Shoup finished with eight points for Parkers Chapel.

BEARDEN 61,

STRONG 57

BEARDEN - The Bears used a run early in the fourth quarter to gain just enough breathing room to hold off the Bulldogs in Class 1A-2A District 16 play.

Derrion Davis had 19 points for Strong (7-11, 2-4), who had four players in double figures in the contest.

Trey Smith had 13 points, while Desmond Newton added 12 points and Jadarrius Dixon finished with 11 points for the Bulldogs.

Strong led 12-9 after the first period and 26-22 at intermission before the Bears fought back to tie the game at 41-all through three periods of play.

WARREN 72,

SMACKOVER 35

WARREN - The Bucks saw their two-game winning streak come to an end in their first action since winning at Lake Village on January 9.

Roshard Boone had 13 points and Bryce Lockhart finished with eight points for the Bucks (4-10, 4-6), who fell in Class 3A-4A District 12 play.

LITTLE ROCK - Down by a point with 20 seconds remaining, Zachary Scriber stole the ball that led to Viraj Vora being fouled.

Vora, who had 19 points, tied the game with a free throw to force the extra session, and the Warriors (15-6) pulled away to pick up a win on the road.

Scriber led the Warriors with 22 points, who also got 17 points from Stephfan Tabe.
