Dolores Eugenia Jones Sams went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2018 at Timberlane Health and Rehab where she had resided for the last year and a half. She was 85 years old. Dolores was born is McComb, Mississippi in 1932 to Arthur J. Jones and Annie Louise Kennedy Jones. She lived most of her life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Dolores graduated from LSU with a degree in secondary childhood education. She was a teacher and Principal at Bethany Christian School in Baton Rouge for many years. Dolores raised her three sons to love the Lord and work hard.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Annie and by a son Steven Lynn Sams.

She is survived by a sister Mary Helen Jones of El Dorado (formerly of Baton Rouge) who has faithfully lived with and taken care of her big sister for the past several years. Two sons, Don Sams (Perri) of Somerset Kentucky, Glenn Sams (Julie) of El Dorado, four Grandchildren, Melody Sams of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Kendal Sams Hunter (Shaston) of Madison, Alabama. Abigail Sams of Madison, Alabama and David Sams of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Cousin Joseph Packwood of Tylertown, Mississippi, and other relatives and friends.

A special thank you goes to the entire staff of Timberlane Health and Rehab where she has been loved and cared for by the staff while she was a resident.

Graveside service and Internment will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday January 22, 2018 at the Hollywood Cemetery in McComb, Mississippi.
