Mary Ellen Leigh, 77, of Camden, passed away Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018 at the Ouachita County Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1940 in Chidester, to William R. and Maggie Marie Bearden Williams. She was a member of Elliott Baptist Church. She retired as a Branch Manager in the banking/insurance industry.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Russell Leigh.
She is survived by her son, William Russell Leigh of Camden, and Terry Leigh and wife, Rachel of Odessa, Missouri; sister, Nelda Williams Morton and husband, Jim of Lebanon, Indiana; brother, W. R. “Robbie” Williams and wife, Debbie of El Dorado; grandchildren, Blake Leigh, Jordan Leigh, Caden Leigh, Lindsey Leigh Freeland and husband, Justin, Samantha Specker, David Specker and Dawson Smith; great grandchildren, Austyn Leigh and Aspen Leigh; and family friend, William “Dickie” Steelman.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Elliott Baptist Church with Paul Easter officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Proctor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
