POYEN - Parkers Chapel held off a late surge by Bearden and prevailed 64-58 Saturday night in the boys championship game of the 2A South Regional Tournament. The Trojans improved to 28-3 on the season and will play at White County Central in Judsonia Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the 2A State Tournament.

Parkers Chapel led 16-13 after one quarter, 33-25 at the half and 46-37 going into the fourth. The Bears cut the margin to two with 30 seconds left.

Bearden was called for an intentional foul and Canon Morgan sank two free throws for the Trojans. PC got the ball back and Dawson Goodwin was fouled and hit both free throws to put the game away.

"It's all to the boys. They did a great job," said Parkers Chapel coach Josh Langley. "They executed the gameplan almost to perfection. We didn't want them to turn it into a track meet. We were able to take care of the ball and then we made free throws when it mattered."

Nate Garrett-Evers led Parkers Chapel with 25 points. Isaiah Brown and Goodwin added 10 and eight, respectively. Amari Bell grabbed 13 rebounds.

Devarious Hughes led Bearden with 30 points.
