Wildcats top Greenwood; Lady Cats falter

GREENWOOD - El Dorado advanced in the 6A West Boys Basketball Conference Tournament on Saturday with a 57-52 victory at Greenwood. The Wildcats improved to 13-14 on the season and qualified for the 6A State Tournament. El Dorado will travel to Lake Hamilton on Tuesday.

El Dorado trailed 40-36 going into the fourth quarter but went on a 13-0 run to seize control. Khalil Shelton and Bishop Foster each went 2-for-2 at the line down the stretch.

Joderrio Ramey led the Wildcats with 21 points. Keshun Greene scored 16 with nine rebounds and Brendan Johnson contributed eight points.

Jordan Shepherd and Runnin Steward led Greenwood with 12 and 10, respectively.

RUSSELLVILLE - The Lady Wildcats find themselves in a do-or-die situation on Tuesday after losing to Russellville in the 6A West Girls Basketball Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon. El Dorado dropped to 12-13 on the season and must beat Siloam Springs Tuesday at Wildcat Arena to keep the season alive.

The Lady Wildcats led Russellville 25-24 at the half and 36-34 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Cyclones hit 1o free throws in the final five minutes.

Cara Davis led Russellville with 15 points.

Kierra Boone led El Dorado with 11 points and four rebounds. Jessica Morton scored eight with five boards. Grace Murry scored eight with three assists and Tasia Richardson recorded six points and two assists.
