African-American Family and Friends Day

The event was one of many held during the black history program for the South Arkansas Community College annual African-American Family and Friends Day Saturday. Dr. Charles E. Williams, outreach coordinator for the office of the governor, delivered a personal message from Gov. Asa Hutchinson. SouthArk math instructor Vernita Morgan read a letter of acknowledgment from the Office of U.S. Sen. John Boozman, R-Arkansas and El Dorado Mayor Frank Hash issued a proclamation officiating the day for the city. The event included several opportunities to learn about African-American history, culture and achievements.
