Mary Alice Barnes was born on June 8,1924 to Elmo and Essie Haney Thompson. Sister Mary Alice spread her wings and soared into her glorified body on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018. She transitioned peacefully at her home in her bed surrounded by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, three sisters, four sons, two daughters, and two loving husbands. Sister Mary Alice leaves to celebrate her life; son, John W.Young and daughter, Annie R.White both of El Dorado; brother, Gus Thompson of Huttig; sister, Margie Furlow of Lapile; a very special couple, James and Lottie Frost of El Dorado; 23 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 40 great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Strong with the Rev. Robert E.Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Ward’s Chapel Cemetery in Strong under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
