Michael Sitarski, 74 of Bernice, LA, formerly of Junction City, AR, passed away Friday, January 26, 2018, at Bernice Nursing and Rehab Center in Bernice, Louisiana.
Michael was born August 1, 1943, in Raymondville, Texas to the union of Joseph Laurence Sitarski and Bertha Loretta Wilde Sitarski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Henry Sitarski.
Michael enjoyed the great outdoors and the weather. He could name and explain all the constellations and was an avid advocate for his faith, family, and friends. He was a commercial fisherman when he met his wife, Linda and sold fish to the local restaurants. After he married he started a lawn care and landscape business, after moving to San Antonio area he worked in the school system as grounds keeper and custodian until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Sitarski, two brothers, John Patrick and Frank Sitarski, two sisters, Mary Elizabeth “Lily” Coooley and Kathrine Naddeo, two step-children, Kathy Carter and husband Harvey, and Warren Washam and wife Teresa.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018 at the Canaan Cemetery, Lockhart, LA with Vance Stinson officiating. Cremation services provided by Bailey Funeral Home, El Dorado, AR.
