Balanced attack lifts Junction City past McGehee

MCGEHEE - Jada Archie had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds, as Junction City knocked off McGehee 46-28 on Thursday night in a Class 3A-4A District 12 contest.

The Lady Dragons (13-11, 8-6) led 12-6 after the opening stanza before holding McGehee to just two points in the second period to extend their lead to 19-8 at intermission.

Junction City then outscored McGehee 18-5 in the third period to take control of the contest.

Keyanna Ross had 13 points and eight rebounds, while Taykeetria Rogers had eight points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the win. Jhonda Webster also dished out five assists for Junction City.

EHS WINS AT HOME

Erica Moore scored 13 points, as El Dorado's freshman girls basketball team cruised past Texarkana 44-23 on Thursday at Wildcat Arena.

Tajah Edmondson had 12 points and Joi Johnson added seven points for El Dorado (11-3).

WILDKITTENS WIN

TEXARKANA - Jackie Washington had 20 points, as Barton overcame a 21-10 deficit after the opening period to top Texarkana 48-41 on Thursday.

David Ayree had 11 points and Sharmon Rester finished with seven points for the Wildkittens (13-9), who outscored Texarkana 15-2 in the second period.

BARTON COMES UP SHORT

Barton's eighth-grade girls basketball team fell just short on Thursday, as Texarkana topped the Lady Wildkittens 29-26.

Kalese Moseby had 10 points and Carshaila Rozier added seven points for Barton (10-10).
