RSVP Dance set for Friday

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program Dance for those 55 and older will be held from 7-10 p.m. Friday at Champagnolle Landing Senior Center, 910 E. 4th St. Friday’s event will feature William & Friends. Admission is $6 and no smoking or alcohol is allowed.

TOUCH Coalition to meet in committees Tuesday

The TOUCH Coalition will meet in committees and discuss projects the coalition can do to help the community at noon Tuesday in the second floor community room at Simmons Bank.

Champagnolle Landing accepting transportation applications

Champagnolle Landing Senior Wellness Center is now accepting transportation applications for seniors 60 years or older in Union County to attend Champagnolle Landing. For more information, please call 870-862-2230.

The Area Agency on Aging of Southwest Arkansas, Inc. will present a workshop on medical and legal ethics for health care providers and family caregivers on March 16 at the College Avenue Church of Christ Annex, 1817 N. College.

Attorneys Lisa Shoalmire and John Ross will cover topics such as powers of attorney, end of life issues, competency and guardianship, VA benefits and Medicaid qualifications, and estate planning.

The workshop may qualify for five contact hours of nursing home administration continuing education and nursing continuing education, pending approval by the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care, and social workers will be able to obtain five continuing education hours.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. March 16, with the workshop starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 3:10 p.m. The workshop will include a continental breakfast, two breaks and a provided lunch. Costs are $10 for family caregivers and those not seeking continuing education units. Professionals seeking those units will be charged $25.
