AUSTIN J. HUX

Austin Jerry (Fireball) Hux, age 81, passed from this world on Tuesday, Jan. 30, to be with our Lord and Savior. Austin was born Dec. 31, 1936 in El Dorado, the only Son of Proctor (Doc) and Muzetta Hux. He studied at University of Arkansas at Monticello and earned a degree in civil engineering while serving his country in the National Guard. After working in the public sector his entrepreneurial spirit launched him into starting his own business, Fireball Electronics. That business flourished and branched into several other ventures. All of which were successful due to his tenacious work ethics, sharp mind and strong will to succeed.

Austin was also a cattle farmer, religiously working his cattle all while growing his businesses. The early and late hours, freezing winters nor scorching summers never slowed him down. No matter how much we fussed, he just kept going. But when he did take time to rest, you’d find him on a river or lake with a fishing rod in his hand. He loved to crappie and bass fish. If he went missing, we knew where to find him…at his camp on the lake. He also loved to hunt and had just finished building three new deer stands for next year. He’ll now be fishing and hunting with the greatest fisherman of all, Jesus.

Austin will be remembered for his strong and courageous spirit, never say never attitude and his love for the Lord and his family. Austin’s generosity for others surely earned him an extra jewel in his crown. He is survived by his Daughter, Angela Rader Doss and Son-in-Law Eric of El Dorado, Daughter, Sabrena Lamkin and Fiancé Ben Hughes of Texarkana, TX, Grandson Jeremiah Rader, Granddaughter, Taylor Jones and Husband Chris, two Great Grand Children Sophia and Khali Jones, Brother-in-Law, Byron White and Wife Maxine, Brother-in-Law, Jim Adcock and Wife, Brenda along with several nephews and nieces and his best friend and Cousin, Jerrell Williams and Wife, Joan. He is reunited with the love of his life, Janice Hux and his Mother and Father.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m., today at Cross Life Church, 1010 W. Combs St, El Dorado, with graveside to follow at Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will also be at Cross Life starting at 12 p.m., directly preceding the service.

Fly high Daddy. This isn’t Goodbye, it’s just see you later! We love you so much!
