RSVP Dance featuring Slik Nickel to be held Friday

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program will hold a RSVP Dance for ages 55 and older from 7-10 p.m. Friday at Champagnolle Landing Senior Center, 910 E. 4th St., El Dorado.

Slik Nickel will perform. Admission is $6 per person. Smoking and alcohol is prohibited.

Huttig group to hold Census workshop meeting

Concerned Citizens of Huttig will host a community meeting at 6 p.m. Aug. 23 at the Huttig Community Center, 501 Frost St. Refreshments will be served.

Guest speakers will be data dissemination specialist Deborah T. Pitchford of the Federal Census Bureau. Pitchford will provide updates on the federal census process and procedures, with an opportunity for questions and answers after the presentations.

Candidates for public office also will be present to discuss their positions on issues and take questions.

Concerned Citizens of Huttig is a community-based group that encourages people to get involved in organizing, social justice issues, advocacy and electoral engagement at local and state levels.

Guns and Hoses pageant to be held Saturday

The annual Guns and Hoses Pageant, which benefits the #teamcorrie Cancer Foundation, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium, 100 W. Eighth.

First responders from area law enforcement agencies, the El Dorado Fire Department and ambulance crews will compete in evening gown and talent categories.

Admission is $10 for adults and school-age children. Donations will be accepted.

The #teamcorrie foundation awards grants to help cover medical expenses for cancer patients in Union County.
