Smackover takes home district title

MCGEHEE - Smackover scored in every event Tuesday and won the girls championship at the 3A 7 District Track Meet. The Lady Bucks totaled 220 points to outdistance Lake Village (186.5), Junction City (61), McGehee (53.5), Drew Central (43) and Fordyce (7).

It was the eighth straight title for the Lady Bucks.

“The girls have talked all year about wanting to keep that streak alive,” said Smackover coach David Osborn. “That’s been the goal from Day One. For the girls, we had five ninth graders qualify for state, so if they continue to work, the future looks bright.”

Camree Jones took first place in the 400 with a time of 1:11.14. She was also second in the high jump.

Laynie Clark won the high jump, clearing 5-0. Paige Goodwin won the pole vault (6-6).

Mikayla Toney was second in the pole vault, second in the 400, third in the 3,200 and sixth in the high jump.

Adriana Grant was second in the triple jump, third in the 100, third in the 100 hurdles, third in the long jump and fourth in the 200.

Stormy Anders was second in the 100 hurdles, third in the 300 hurdles, fourth in the long jump and seventh in the triple jump.

Kaitlyn Goodwin was second in the 3,200 and eighth in the triple jump. Brooke Patton was second in the 800 and third in the 1,600. Breunna Patton was second in the 1,600, third in the 800 and fifth in the long jump.

Haley Johnson was third in the 200 and fifth in the 100. Jordan Price was fourth in the 800. Destiny Jackson was fourth in the 300 hurdles.

Mary Claire Wilcox was fourth in the 400. Ja’miya Murphy was fifth in the shot and eighth in the discus. Ja’niya Murphy was sixth in the discus and sixth in the shot. Diamond Johnson was seventh in the 200.

Junction City’s Camya Hamilton won the shot with a throw of 31-10. She was third in the 400 and fourth in the discus. Keyanna Ross was second in the 300 hurdles, fourth in the 100 hurdles, fourth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump.

Jada Archie was second in the shot and fifth in the discus.

Breyun Meadows was sixth in the 200 and eighth in the 100. Keundra Jackson was fifth in the 400 and eighth in the shot.
