Buckaroos second in district meet

MCGEHEE - Smackover had 20 athletes score points Tuesday as the Buckaroos finished second in the 3A 7 District Boys Track Meet.

Junction City finished fourth. McGehee won the meet with 197 points followed by Smackover (147), Lake Village (123), Junction City (101), Drew Central (38) and Fordyce (35).

The Dragons’ Tykeon Hollidy won the long jump (21-07) and was third in the 300 hurdles. Noreagia Frazier won the discus with a heave of 120-09.5 and Scott Wallace won the 800 (2:15.98) and finished third in the 1,600.

Smackover was led by a 1-2-3 finish in the pole vault. Ethan Warren cleared 9-0 to win followed by George Williams and Rhett Gatewood. Williams also finished third in the 100.

Also for the Bucks, Roshard Boone was second in the 110 hurdles, sixth in the triple jump and eighth in the high jump. Dexter Crockett was second in the 100, third in the 200 and fifth in the high jump. Dawson Biggers was fifth in the 200, fifth in the 110 hurdles, fifth in the 300 hurdles and sixth in the long jump.

Drew Henry was sixth in the 200, seventh in the 400 and seventh in the long jump.

Hunter Goocher placed third in the discus. Robert Dixon was fourth in the 800. William Newton was fourth in the 3,200. John Burch was third in the 3,200 and fifth in the 400.

Dylan Calloway was fifth in the 3,200.

Brylee Monreal was sixth in the discus and seventh in the shot.

Braylon Love was seventh in the 110 hurdles. Elijah Brazile was eighth in the 100.

Emory Fleming and Price Wollen finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 1,600. Synard Williams was seventh in the 300 hurdles.

Harley Williams was seventh in the 800. Jackson Cook was eighth in the triple jump.

Other Junction City athletes who scored included Shuvascayae Frazier, who was second in the 300 hurdles, third in the triple jump and third in the long jump.

Tyler Leblanc was second in the discus. Jalen Davis finished sixth in the 400, sixth in the high jump and eighth in the long jump.

Terrell Gibson was fifth in the shot and eighth in the discus. Jerrodney Tubbs was eighth in the shot.
