Food Service Inspection

NOTE: Any violations reported in an inspection may have been corrected before time of publication.

The Food Protection Program of the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) inspects all food establishments in the state to make sure they follow ADH Food Establishment Rules & Regulations.

Arkansas’ Health Department’s inspections are conducted 1 to 3 times per year depending upon the Risk Category of the establishment. Additional inspections occur to follow-up on violations and when the ADH receives a complaint.

The regulations are written to ensure food is prepared, stored, and served safely, which in turn may prevent food-borne illness.

From the Inspection Report, you can see if the establishment is following the food safety regulations.

Remember this inspection is only a snapshot in time. It represents only what the inspector saw on the particular date of inspection.

It is also important to remember that if problems were found during the inspection, the person in charge is shown what changes are needed to ensure safety.

This week’s noted inspections in Union County:

Comfort Inn & Suites Kitchen, 2309 Junction City Road, El Dorado, must provide a supply of individual disposable towels or a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or a heated-air drying device at each handwashing sink in food preparation, toilet and warewashing areas. Employee provided napkins to dry hands. Manager is looking for the key to open paper towel holder to replace single use paper towels. If key is not found, will install a roll paper towel holder to use roll style paper towels.

Country Inn & Suites, 2413 W. Hillsboro, El Dorado, must provide a supply of individual disposable towels or a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or a heated-air drying device at each handwashing sink in food preparation, toilet and warewashing areas. Will have a single use paper towel holder/dispenser placed by the hand washing sink in the kitchen area. Dish towels are not supposed to be used to dry hands after washing. A handwashing sink shall be maintained so that it is accessible at all times for employee use, and do not use for purposes other than handwashing. Have a hand soap dispenser placed by the kitchen hand washing sink. Observed hand sanitizer in the kitchen area close to hand washing sink; hand sanitizer is not allowed in replacement of hand washing unless running water is not available.

Econolodge, 1920 Junction City Road, El Dorado, all refrigerators must be able to hold and maintain all cold hold food at or below 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Have the fourth refrigerator, close to the freezer, checked as soon as possible. Moved milk, cream cheese and cool whip to another refrigerator.
