Earth Day at the Arboretum

Learning outdoors: Above, Smackover Elementary School fourth grader Linly Mills looks through a microscope at water mites as Kyle Maxwell of LANXESS watches Friday at the South Arkansas Arboretum. Over 500 students learned about water sampling, recycling and products made from the natural resources located in the Smackover Limestone brine reserve. Ten redbud trees were planted with a commemorative plaque honoring each class that attended.
