El Dorado police are investigating the death of a woman who was found inside a local residence Friday.
Few details about the incident were available by press time Friday.
Capt. Kevin Holt, public information officer for the El Dorado Police Department, said the body will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for a medical examination.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 140 block of Pacific and learned that a woman was dead inside the residence.
“There was a fatality. We don’t know at this point whether it was self-inflicted or a homicide. We’ll let the crime lab tells us,” Holt said. “We’re still trying to gather information.”
Investigators remained on the scene late Friday afternoon.
