With one week before the kickoff to the new Murphy Arts District, details on street parking and area shuttles have been released by district officials.

According to a release, shuttles will operate Sept. 29 through Oct. 1 on various routes starting at the following locations:

Country Inn & Suites on West Hillsboro Street;

Holiday Inn & Suites and Super 8 on Junction City Road;

Comfort Inn and La Quinta on Junction City Road;

Hampton Inn, Candlewood Suites and Econo Lodge on Junction City Road;

Recreation Complex on Champagnolle Road; and

Union County Fairgrounds on East 19th Street.

Shuttles will pick up every 15 minutes.

A trolley also will run during the grand opening, with stops at Mellor Park, the Mellor Park Mall, the Victory Baptist Church, the Old City Park and the South Arkansas Arboretum. Trolleys will pick up every 30 minutes.

During the events Sept. 28-Oct. 1, the following streets will be for pedestrian traffic only:

Elm Street, between South West Avenue and Hill Street;

Cleveland, between Oak and Main, between Main and Cedar, and just before Locust;

Washington, between Oak and Main and just before Locust to Pony Street;

Jefferson, between Oak and Main and between Main and Cedar;

Hill Street, between Elm and Main and between Main and Pony;

Cedar, between just before Jefferson and Jackson;

Locust, between South West Avenue and Washington; and

Pony, between Washington and Hill.

No parking will be allowed on Washington Street. Several area streets will be converted to one-way traffic only and parts of Main Street will only be for shuttle traffic.

The release also noted that the free Oct. 1 Smokey Robinson concert with the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra will have representatives from the Salvation Army present to collect donations for hurricane relief after the devastation caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. According to the release, all performances at the Ampitheater will go on in rain or shine.
