Trojans get past Bulldogs

FORDYCE - Nate Garrett-Evans led a balanced attack with 15 points, as Parkers Chapel picked up its second win of the season over Strong, topping the Bulldogs 59-44 on Monday night in the opening round of the FBT Bank & Trust Tournament.

Amari Bell and Josh Osborn were also in double figures with 11 points apiece for the Trojans, who improved to 3-0 on the young season.

Canon Morgan had nine points and Dawson Goodwin chipped in with eight points for the Trojans, who play at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday night against either Harmony Grove or Fordyce.

Derrion Davis had 11 points, while Trey Smith had 10 points as Strong's lone players in double figures.

Desmond Newton had nine points and X-Zavier McHenry finished with eight points for the Bulldogs, who fall to 1-2 on the season.

EL DORADO FRESHMEN WIN

MONTICELLO - Tajah Edmondson had 13 points, as El Dorado's freshman girls basketball team knocked off Monticello 41-33 on Monday night.

Joi Johnson and Erica Moore had nine points apiece for the Lady Wildcats, who are 5-1 after Monday's win.

BARTON COLLECTS ROAD WIN

MONTICELLO - Barton's eighth-grade boys basketball team picked up its fifth win of the season by downing Monticello 42-29 on Monday night.

Knolej White had nine points to pace the Wildkittens, who improved to 5-3 with the win.

Jackie Washington and David Ayree had eight points each in the contest for Barton.
