GENE PERDUE

Gene Perdue, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Little Rock. Gene was born on January 27, 1930 to C.B. and Lillian Perdue. He had been a member of First United Methodist Church (FUMC) for over 50 years.

Gene served in the Air Force as a Combat Radio Operator in the Korean War, and was the owner of Perdue’s Auto Repair for 35 years. He had a gift for repairing most anything mechanical or electrical, and after he retired he enjoyed, as he put it, “piddlin” in his shop. Gene was an avid fisherman and loved the company of his dogs throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Geneva Perdue; brother, Allen Perdue; and sister, Etta Mae Lyons.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Marcella Perdue; brother, C.B. Perdue, Jr.; sister, Jeanette Gardner; daughter, Linda Silkwood (Larry); son, Richard Bussey (Lou Ann); four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 25 at FUMC with Rev. Keith Dodson officiating.
