Charles Newton, 76 of El Dorado, AR, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.
Mr. Newton was born February 27, 1941 in Morencia, Arizona to the union of Clarence Bruce Newton and Mary Louise Whitehorn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Newton retired from Willamette Wood Plant, and was a member of the First Church of God in El Dorado. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served on the USS Kitty Hawk, and was a member of the American Legion Post #10.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Sherry P Newton of El Dorado, two daughters, Tonya Taylor and husband, Patrick of Three Creeks, and Mary Ann Newton of Tahlequah, OK, one son, Donny Payne and wife Sharlene of Junction City, one sister, Barbara Hatridge of Shawnee, KS, six grandchildren, David Payne, Erik Griffith, Jessica Johnson, Kristen Foster, Nathan Jones , Zackary Taylor, and six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017, 2:30 p.m. until memorial services at 3:30 p.m. at the First Church of God in El Dorado, AR. with Bro. George Jones officiating.
