Eileen Fletcher appointed to serve on Norphlet City Council

NORPHLET — Eileen Fletcher of Norphlet has been appointed by the Norphlet City Council to serve out the term of Jimmy Watts, who recently resigned from the position, according to Norphlet Mayor Jim Crotty. He said the term will end on Dec. 31, 2018.

Also during a recent Norphlet City Council meeting, members discussed reapplying for a $250,000 State of Arkansas Aid grant to resurface four streets – Carey Lane, Baugh Street, Stony Creek Drive and Black Street. Members also discussed a plan to upgrade the sidewalks in the city along Padgett Street.

Crotty said council members discussed the 2018 budget and hope to finalize the budget for next year during the 6 p.m. meeting Dec. 12 at Norphlet City Hall.
