Officer of the Month

Dedication: Officer Anthony Bernard Ross, right, is honored as October’s Officer of the Month at the Kiwanis Club meeting by Jaren Books, left. Ross’ knowledge of suspects played an important role in situations that could have been much worse. He was successful in two instances in recognizing and convincing suspects to turn themselves in, without incident. “His training as a police officer allowed him to stay in control and bring the circumstances to a nonviolent ending,” Patrol Capt. Karl Nichols said in a press release. Not pictured was Sgt. Robert Scott Harwell, who was honored as September’s Officer of the Month. For September, Harwell had 10 CID arrests, three patrol adopted cases, 13 felony cases and conducted one search warrant.
