Officers were called to the 700 block of South West Avenue in reference to an alleged attack, and upon arrival, they met with Ponder. Ponder told officers that Leveritt, her boyfriend, spat in her face several times, slapped her in the neck, and kicked her several times in the back as she lay on the ground. Ponder said that when she attempted to get up, Leveritt grabbed her by the hair and pulled her back down. She said she then ran to her camper in the yard to gather her belongings, explaining that she had placed her belongings in a pile outside the camper because she was attempting to leave Leveritt. Ponder said he threw her belongings in the yard, and when she attempted to call police, he grabbed her cellphone and threw it in the yard. She also accused Leveritt of raping her prior to the incident. Officers spoke to Leveritt at the Louisiana Avenue residence, and he said Ponder “threatened to murder him” during an argument that had lasted for several hours. He said Ponder retrieved a hammer and advanced toward him as she issued the terroristic threat. He said he went inside the house and locked the door.
