Graveside services for Charles C. Church, 95, of Temple, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bellwood Memorial Park in Temple.

Mr. Church died Tuesday in a Temple hospital.

Mr. Church was born in Union County, Arkansas, to Lum C. Church and Amy Newsom Church. During World War II, he attended Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, Georgia. After receiving his commission as an Infantry Second Lieutenant, he was assigned to the Infantry School before deploying to the European Theater of Operations.

In 1943 he married Earlene Bell. She preceded him in death in 1997. After World War II, Mr. Church graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and joined Humble Oil and Refining Company in Houston. He worked for Humble Oil and the Exxon Corporation for 35 years.

Survivors include his son, Pat Church of Temple; one daughter, Charlene Church of Salado; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Scanio-Harper Funeral Home of Temple, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
