RUBYE J. TAYLOR

Rubye Joy Grafton Taylor age 90 of El Dorado, AR passed from this life on Monday, November 6, 2017 at her residence. Rubye was born on June 1, 1927 in Bernice, LA to the late Alsie Thaxton Grafton and John Walter Grafton.

Rubye was a longtime member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church, where she attended since their start. Rubye’s heart was in the women’s ministry at the Union County jail, where she faithfully ministered on Sunday mornings for the last 25 years. She was a lab tech for Dr. Duzan for many years before becoming a licensed realtor. She worked with Jan’s Realty for many years and still kept her license to this day. Rubye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be truly missed by all.

Rubye was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Wallace Grafton, Teddy Grafton and Bobby Grafton; and four sisters, Lenora Griffin, Johnnie Griffin, Melba Fowler, and Maxine Barrett.

Survivors include; her husband of 67 years, Boyd Taylor; one daughter, Jane Taylor; two sons, Charles B. “Chuck” Taylor Jr. and wife Betty and Gerald W. Taylor and wife Denise all of El Dorado; two grandsons, Christopher Taylor of Benton, LA and Adam Taylor of Lafayette, LA; two granddaughters, Alex Boling of Stuttgart, AR and Amanda Taylor of Lafayette, LA; four great grandchildren; one brother, Billy Grafton of Farmerville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Bailey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Pisgah Baptist Church near Bernice, LA with Rev. Gerald Taylor and Rev. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of El Dorado.
