South Arkansas Community College will host a Veterans Appreciation Day ceremony from 12:30 to 12:45 p.m. Tables will be set up in the Conference Center for students, faculty and staff to bring in military memorabilia of themselves or family members.

A groundbreaking ceremony for Agape Children’s Home’s Hope House will be held from noon until 1 p.m. at 1838 Morning Star Road. The public is invited.

The Strong-Huttig School Board will hold a special meeting for personnel issues at 6 p.m. in the high school library.

A Prayer Walk will be held at 6:30 p.m. as part of the 40 Days of Prayer campaign. The walk will begin at the El Dorado Police Department and move to prayer stations at City Hall, the El Dorado School District Central Administration Office and the Union County Courthouse.

TOMORROW

Norphlet Middle School will have a Veterans Day assembly at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium that will involve the band and choir performing patriotic music along with some students giving patriotic readings. NMS invites veterans from around the area and have a reception in the library after the assembly.

The Smackover High School choir and band will present at a Veterans Day Assembly at 12:30 p.m. in the Hobgood Auditorium.

Barton Junior High School’s music department and Student Council present its Veterans Day Program at 2 p.m. in the gym. Veterans, families and friends are invited.

The Union County Animal Protection Society (UCAPS) Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church. The meeting is open to the public.
