ELLA M. HUGHES

Ella Mae Hughes, 95, of El Dorado, died Monday, March 20, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House. She was born July 8, 1921, to Joseph and Vera Pinto in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

She served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a nurse. Ella Mae held the rank of 1st Lieutenant serving on the 75th Hospital Train unit in the European theater of operation. She married George Ellis Davidson in 1945. After his death in 1966, she later married James Austin Hughes in 1970 until his death in 2001. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado.

Preceding her in death were her parents; first husband, George Ellis Davidson; second husband, James Austin Hughes; brother, Joseph Pinto and sister, Lenora Seacat.

Survivors include her son, James Davidson and his wife, Keitha of El Dorado; four step-children, Sandy Hughes Kaserian and her husband, Brian, Jim Hughes, Randy Hughes, and Mike Hughes; grandchildren, Lauren Greenhaw (Neil) of Bentonville, Amy Orman (Jeremy) of East End, Grace, Jack, and Joseph Kaserian of Los Angeles and four great grandchildren, London Greenhaw, Brooklyn Greenhaw, Pierce Orman, and Elliott Orman.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Young’s.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Wasson officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
