City arrests

• Devonta Hill, 23, of 917 E. Oak Street was arrested on June 20, for possession with Intent to deliver, careless prohibited driving, failure to pay vehicle registration and no insurance. Kenneth Ford, 27, 327 Hudson Street, was arrested with Hill for possession with intent to deliver, theft by receiving, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms and obstructing governmental operations.

• Hugh Martin, 23, of 518 N. Parkway, was arrested on multiple charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance, Driving while intoxicated, no drivers licence, careless prohibited Driving, failure to pay vehicle registration, no proof of insurance and obstruction of governmental operations. He was pulled over after driving erratically in a black Dodge Charger and gave a false identity.

City reports

• A vehicle theft was reported on June 19, from the 700 block of E. Oak Street. The vehicle was taken to be repaired on June 1 and was never returned.

• Reports of forgery was issued on June 19 after a woman in the 400 block of North West Avenue reported four checks being written against her account to Wal-mart. She noticed that five checks were missing from her checkbook.

• A man reported on June 19 that his vehicle was broken into. He stated that he noticed was that someone had messed with his dash compartment and stole his car ash tray filled with cigarette butts. The man was concerned that someone was trying to steal his DNA from the cigarette butts to frame him for a crime. He also stated that an ash tray was stole from his front porch but he did not report it.

• Police were dispatched to the 1100 block of W. Main Street because of a car break where a laptop and a black IPad was stolen. The man also stated that an exterior light was also taken from the corner of his residence that was used to illuminate his vehicle and carport.

• An attempted burglary happened on June 19 at the Sno-Shack, 1104 Mount Holly Road. Nothing was taken, but the tinted film that was on the window was later found around Yocum Primary School.

• On June 18, police were called to the 200 block of Thompson where someone had broken into a residency. The owners observed that the back bedroom window unit had been removed and a weed eater, hedge trimmer and snow village was missing.

• A purse was stolen from a residency on the 700 block of East Sixth Street on June 16. The woman said she was outside her home around 15 minutes feeding her cats on the side of the house when the purse was stolen from on top of her washing machine.

County Arrests

• James D. Waller, 22 , of 2999 Lawson Road, was arrested on June 19 and Clinton J. Rodgers, 27, of 680 Nick Springs Road, was arrested on June 20 for Battery in the 2nd degree. The men were on the Ouachita River in the Moro Bay Park where the victim was accused of insulting Waller’s girlfriend. The two supposedly attacked the victim and left him with multiple breaks in his jaw and he lost several teeth.

County Reports

• A woman on the 200 block of Hickory Street, Strong, reported to the Sheriff’s office of a break in at her residence where an iPhone 5S and charger were stolen.
