Ross Korkmas named to Arkansas Business 40 Under 40

EL DORADO — Ross Korkmas, chief operating officer at Medical Center of South Arkansas, has been named as a 40 Under 40 honoree by Arkansas Business which annually honors professionals under the age of 40 who have exemplified leadership in their various industries as well as in their respective communities.

“It is indeed an honor to be recognized as one of the top 40 Under 40 in Arkansas,” said Korkmas. “I am grateful for all those who have supported me here at MCSA and those who offered guidance early in my career.” He also stated the importance of today’s leaders becoming mentors for the next generation.

“Mentors are important in every industry. This honor reminds me of those who were willing to share their experiences, including their failures, with me because they genuinely wanted me to succeed,” said Korkmas. “They were willing to invest time and energy in my future. I hope to always pay that forward throughout my career.”

Korkmas joined MCSA in 2013, as ACEO and was promoted in 2016 to COO. He is responsible for all aspects of administration with specific administrative and financial direction for plant operations; environmental services; biomedical services, food and nutrition, pharmacy, laboratory, respiratory therapy, therapy service (PT, OT and Speech), cath lab, cardiac rehabilitation, echo and radiology.

Korkmas received a master of health care administration from the University of Texas, Arlington; a bachelor of science from the University of North Texas; and numerous certifications in emergency, crisis and incident prevention. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Beta Gamma Sigma – National College of Business Honor Society, Rotary International and chairs several hospital committees. He is a member of the KidsNGolf board of directors. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married for nine years and have two daughters, Madison and Peyton.

Selected from more than 300 nominees, Korkmas joins a distinguished group recognized for their business success, leadership skills and level of community involvement from a variety of industries including real estate, banking and finance, non-profits, entertainment, and more. The top 40 will be honored June 14, at the Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 luncheon in Little Rock.
