The Second 2017 Murphy USA Summer Concert Series and “Showdown at Sunset,” will begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday on the Union County Courthouse Square in downtown El Dorado. The concerts and “Showdown” are free and open to the public.

“Showdown at Sunset,” a reenactment of the 1902 gunfight on the courthouse square in El Dorado that left three men dead and several wounded, will begin at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by music by Blackstrap Molasses and The Burners. At 8 p.m., headliner Lee Roy Parnell will take the stage.

The Sight Impaired Group Help Team (SIGHT) will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Dumas Memorial Methodist Church, 132 S. Wyatt Drive. Entertainment will be provided by The Harbour Family – Benjamin, Jonothan, Hannah and Rachel.

Meet Me at the Court will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday on the basketball court on Lester and Ouachita streets (behind Arby’s) in El Dorado. Meet Me at the Court youth will decorate and fill “love baskets” with paper goods, cleaning supplies and other items that will be donated to the AGAPE House, for the youth mission project for July.
