Trojans win tournament

FORDYCE - Parkers Chapel claimed the boys championship of the FB&T Tournament, beating Bearden 64-53 Saturday night. The Trojans improved to 5-0 on the season.

Senior Nate Garrett-Evans poured in 25 points, hitting 7-of-8 at the free throw line, to pace Parkers Chapel.

The game was knotted at 13-13 after one quarter before the Trojans built a 29-19 halftime cushion. The Bears cut the deficit to 38-36 going into a high-scoring final period. Bearden's only lead was brief, 34-33, in the third quarter.

Dawson Goodwin scored 14 points while Terrell Malone, Josh Osborn and Amari Bell contributed eight, seven and five points, respectively. As a team, Parkers Chapel shot 12-of-14 at the free throw line.

Garrett-Evans, Goodwin and Osborn were named to the all-tournament team.

Devarious Hughes scored 23 points to lead Bearden. Tyler Berry chipped in with 14 for the Bears, who fell to 2-1 on the season.
