Bulldogs, Lady Trojans win in tournament

FORDYCE - Strong’s boys grabbed an early lead and hung on Saturday for a 49-39 victory over Arkadelphia in the FB&T Tournament. The Bulldogs improved to 4-2 on the season and will host Nevada on Tuesday.

Strong led 18-14 after one quarter and maintained an advantage, 29-25 at the half and 37-31 going into the fourth quarter.

Darren Davis paced the Bulldogs with 15 points. Jadarius Dixon scored 12 while Dez Newton and Trey Smith contributed 11 and 10, respectively.

Howard Handey led the Badgers with 10 points.

Parkers Chapel girls 49,

Dollarway 18

FORDYCE - The Lady Trojans earned their first victory of the season Saturday, shutting down Dollarway in the FB&T Tournament. Parkers Chapel upped its record to 1-3.

The Lady Trojans led 17-8 after one quarter and were up 30-13 at the half. The Lady Cardinals managed just two field goals in the second half.

T.K. Burson led Parkers Chapel with 21 points, including three fourth-quarter 3-pointers. Terri Malone scored14 of her 18 points in the first half. Hope Wooten contributed six points.

Makiya Lacy led Dollarway with six points.
