MARCELLE J. VICK

Marcelle Joyce Gulledge Vick, 87, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Friday, April 29th, 2016, at Hospice Center in El Dorado, after a valiant fight after receiving head injuries in a fall. Her unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters carried her through many trying battles the last few years. Throughout her life she lead by example, sacrificed for family, friends and the many students that she taught in school for over 35 years at Union School in El Dorado. She was a spiritual mentor to her children and church family that always pointed to Jesus as the way, the truth and life. Accomplished, strong and determined yet full of love, kindness, compassion, and generosity toward others and total dependence on the Lord. She has left us all a heritage of faith and hope knowing that one day we will all be together again on the heavenly side. Throughout her own struggle in her last years she reached out to others sharing her faith and continuing to speak life and encouragement to her family… who love her more than words can ever express. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and caring demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy shined through her in her smile, her laughter, and her genuine God given gift for teaching which will never be forgotten. As a school teacher and later a Principal she loved empowering other teachers and children with knowledge so they could be all that God created them to be. She has remained a faithful member of East Main Baptist Church for over 45 years.
