To the Editor

On July 12, the city of El Dorado, Immanuel Baptist Church and all those who knew and loved her lost a beautiful person, inside and out — Glynn Calahan.

I would like to share with you a letter from Glynn dedicated to her daughter, Melanie.

This is a letter that Glynn dictated a few hours before she passed away.

Thank you to the church, the school and the town.

Thanks to my family for being the greatest.

Thanks for all the love people gave me and for allowing me to love them back.

Thanks for the leadership we have in El Dorado. Please keep this beautiful town moving forward.

God bless you who have been putting the scriptures in the paper each day.

Thanks to all of the teachers and students that I've grown to know and love over the years.

Thanks to South Arkansas University for buying our home and for your plans to restore it.

To the folks at Parks Store, please raise your prices. You serve too good of a sandwich for too little cost.

To Immanuel Baptist Church, you are my church family and I love every one of you. Thanks to our wonderful new pastor and his wife. Thanks to all who work at the church — paid and volunteer. Thanks to the young men who hug me on Sunday mornings. Benny and Jo, I'll be hovering over Claude and you every Sunday morning from the back row.

Thanks to all that visited and that fed my family while I was in the hospital.

If you don't have a copy of Jesus Calling, please put that at the top of your list to read every day along with your Bible.

Thanks for being all my wonderful, dear friends and family.

All of our accomplishments come from God. Without him we are nothing.

God Bless You,

Glynn

My husband and I have been truly blessed to call Glynn and Claude Calahan our friends.
