Lloyd Anthony “Tony” Patterson, 66, passed from this life on Feb. 6, 2016 surrounded by family at his home in El Dorado following a lengthy illness.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1950 in Camden, to the late Cecil and Mildred Foster Patterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mildred Patterson; his maternal grandparents, Anthony U. and Carmen Foster Sullivan; along with paternal grandparents, Fred J. and Mary Cottrell Patterson.
Those left to cherish his memory are one brother, Darrell Patterson (Tawana) of Camden; one sister, Mary “Cookie” Wood, of El Dorado; a son, Banyon Patterson (Dawna) of Springdale; two grandchildren, Kesley and Kara, of Springdale; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, and associates. Tony was especially grateful to the various special caregivers who made it possible for him to remain in the home he loved.
Tony loved his family and friends. He also loved his animals as well as hunting, fishing, boating, socializing, travel, adventures, and his very special dog, Belle.
Tony was a 1968 graduate of Fairview High School in Camden. He proudly and honorably served his beloved country in the Arkansas National Guard. Tony was a Journeyman Pipefitter and long-time member of Local 706 in El Dorado. Tony retired after over 20 years of employment from Arkansas Chemical “Great Lakes Newell Plant.” He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Pine Bluff Shriner Chapter. Tony was also a member of the El Dorado post of the American Legion, and the El Dorado post of the VFW.
Tony surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ long ago as a member of Fairview Road Baptist Church in Camden and has been a long-time member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in El Dorado.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. today at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 3408 N. Wyatt Dr. in El Dorado and graveside will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery on Fairview Road in Camden, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors with the Rev. Steve Pelz, officiating.
The family will be at Tony Patterson’s residence.
