DEAN E. JACKSON

Services for Dean Eugene Jackson, 79, of Alba, Texas, are scheduled for 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, Alba, with Bro. Kelly Burton officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Alba, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home, Alba.

Mr. Jackson passed away Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, in Alba, Texas.

He was born Monday, Aug. 30, 1937, in El Dorado, to the late Curtis Wilson and Edna Lorene Nash Jackson. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War and had lived in Alba for the last eight months after moving from Wichita, Kan. Dean flew C130 planes in Vietnam, worked for Fed Ex as a pilot, and was a truck driver. He was a member of Civil Air Patrol as a pilot and also the Clear Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville, S. C.

Survivors include his son, Terry Jackson of Ohio; daughters, Janine Teresa Biszantz of Ohio, and Candice M. Jackson of Memphis, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Janie Jackson of Jacksonville, and Sheila Jackson of Alba; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry Edward Jackson, Donald Dwayne Jackson, and Ronald Wayne Jackson; wife, Patsy A. Jackson; son, Greg Jackson; and daughter, Cindy Yon.

Pallbearers will be Logan Woodward, Tommy Woodward, Joshua McGee, Clayton Jackson, Byron Jackson, Cody Jackson, and Terry Jackson.

There will be no family visitation.
