EL DORADO — Leading by example, Pastors Barry Dobson of St. John Missionary Baptist Church and Felton Burgie of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church brought their congregations together for a First Responders Appreciation Day lunch held Thursday.

Dobson said that this is their way of showing the community that this is something we should all do—show our appreciation for the men and women who protect and serve.

“We felt that we needed to show our appreciation for our first responders,” said Dobson. “We might have to call on them at any time.”

The hamburger lunch fed men and women from the Union County Sheriff’s Office and the El Dorado Police Department between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at St. John’s Family Life Center.
